Mumbai Aamchich - Wonder if it will be released ?

I wonder if this Anti- North Indian marathi movie will be relaeased after the BMC elections.

“They have ruined the quality of life in Mumbai. They are dominating us Marathi people, who are the original inhabitants of this city, and are taking away our opportunities. I couldn’t remain a mute spectator, which is why I decided to produce this movie,” says Bansode, who wrote, produced, directed and acted in the movie.

What Bansode is doing is wrong, but at times I wonder what would be the reaction of locals in Kerala, TN, Karnataka or West Bengal when they lose out to people from other states of India in jobs and other opportunity.

Will we have local version of this movie in every state of India by every angry local??

India needs to create to alteast 5-10 more Bombay's to solve this mega migration from UP, Bihar and other poorer parts of our country,

  1. Hi Folks,

It is wrong to assume that Biharis/UP wallah's are hard working and Maharashtrians are slackers. What is happening is that those at the bottom of the totem pole or the new entrants to Mumbai or for that matter new migrants to any new place work harder just to undercut competition or to prove their worth, otherwise there is some body else, perhaps an illegal alien from Bangladesh ready snatch the job/work from him. The KEY is to develop other areas of the country and prevent trashing of Mumbai, which is happening with the uncontrolled influx of these migrants. Having seen at first hand the resentful reaction of Telanganites to the migration of people from coastal districts to Hyderabad region after the formation of the AP state and the subsequent violent agitation in the 60's for a separate Telangana, which persists to this day, I must say that in spite of all the radical posturing by Shiv Sena and perhaps some direct intidimatory action against south indians in the 60's one has to agree that by and large mahararashtrians have been very accommodative to a fault and even a little docile. If Blogger PP or anyone responding to this posting can show a similar example in India I would try my best not to be astonished. Even in the land of immigrants, the USA there is a huge backlash against hispanic migration (both legal and illegal)from Mexico into the southwestern states of USA ( which were at one time part of Mexico). So those who point an accusing finger at Mr.Bansode should do some introspection and wonder what their reaction would be if in their native place a huge influx of outsiders occured with its accompanying consequenses. I am not saying that isolationism is the solution but at a national level policies have to be formulated by the central government which would kick the BIMARU states and similar states out of their stupor. Just as an aside there was huge row over renaming of Bombay as Mumbai but no similar controversy over renaming of Madras, Calcutta or Trivandrum or the more recent spate of renaming in Karnataka. That to me smacks of cultural arrogance and lack of sensitivity for the feelings and aspirations of locals.

  2. preity : the crux of the problem is we have far tooooo many people in the country and very lil avenues and opportunity for all to fit this..

Mumbaiwallah : I agree wid you Bombay Rocks and Maharastrians have been quite sporting and sporting ... but what separate Bombay from the rest of like of Cochin, Madras etc is the essence and spirt of people from all over India, thats why noone care if the South India states are renamed.
And I also believe the situation is also to be blamed to the Government who dint do much to create more education and technical institutes for the people of Maharashtra and also the the Maharashtrian Parent who have not pushed thier kids in education like the South Indian States.

Also they should leave thier dream BMC,BEST jobs and try at Business and employ more people.
