U2 Concert

Bono is at a U2 concert in Glasgow when he asks the audience for some
quiet. Then, in the silence, he starts to slowly clap his hands.

He says into the microphone, "Every time I clap my hands, a child in
Africa dies." A voice from near the front pierces the silence, "Well,
stop fucking clapping then!"

Shamita does a Britney!

Nice one.

Mallika sherawat was shooting for the cover of a magazine recently, when the photographer asked her the ‘position’ she was comfortable in. Without batting an eyelid, the quote queen immediately replied, “I am aiming to be number so I prefer being ‘on top’,”

Mallika is cool :), ... correction Hot :)

The Great Mumbai Textile Strike... 25 Years On

This article kinda glorifies the great strike of 1982 but infact it was one of the worst things to have happened in Bombay's history. The man responsible for the shit was Datta Samant, some say if the strike was a success  then Datta Samant would have been in the position what Bal Thackeray is today.

Datta Samant is still one of the most hated guys even after his death.

The Struggler's Guide to Mumbai

The road to success is called The Struggle..  The journey where millions try to make it to Bollywood, A nice article in DNA

Dhirubhai & Gurubhai

220px-1DHIRUBHAI_AMBANI
200px-Guruposter

I saw Guru on Thursday, Dhirubhai Ambani was my hero and will always be my Hero. He is the man who taught the Indian Middle Class what the Stock Market was, Its thanks to him people like my Dad entered the markets and passed on the funda to me.

I think if our nation has 4-5 people like Dhirubhai poverty and unemployment can become history.

Dhirubhai Always said about politicians and the system "We cannot change our rulers but we can change the way they rule us"

Here are some of his quotes (courtesy wikipedia)

"Growth has no limit at Reliance. I keep revising my vision. Only when you dream it you can do it."
"Think big, think fast, think ahead. Ideas are no one's monopoly"
"Our dreams have to be bigger. Our ambitions higher. Our commitment deeper. And our efforts greater. This is my dream for Reliance and for India."
"You do not require an invitation to make profits."
"If you work with determination and with perfection, success will follow."
"Pursue your goals even in the face of difficulties, and convert adversities into opportunities."
"Give the youth a proper environment. Motivate them. Extend them the support they need. Each one of them has infinite source of energy. They will deliver."
"Between my past, the present and the future, there is one common factor: Relationship and Trust. This is the foundation of our growth"
"We bet on people."
"Meeting the deadlines is not good enough, beating the deadlines is my expectation."
"Don't give up, courage is my conviction."
"you have to take the calculated risk,to earn something"

On the movie
Guru is a well made movie, neat shot.. The songs aren't that great and Ash looks damn annoying at times but the passion and sprit one can feel while watching the movie cant be expressed.
The movie shows his conflict with the Ramnath Goenka in his quest to create India's greatest company. The movie sadly doesn't show anything about his fight with Nusli Wadia.

Abhishek (Gurukant Desai) and Mithun (Manik Dasgupta) have given a wonderful performance. Vidya Balan and Madhavan could have been lil better utilised.

I liked the scene where the Taxi driver comes to GuruBhai when he is taken to the court and says "Gurubhai, apan taxi driver hai, roz wadala se churchgate chalata hoon, maine apni teen beetiyon ki shadi karvaya aapka company ka shares se, Gurubhai hum aapke saath hai" . This is so damn true Reliance might have acted as the Godfather for aleast 15 millions people directly or indirectly giving 45% compunded returns since 1977.

Its a must dekko. 4/5

Chilling Doha

The climate in Doha is so damn cold and wind so chilling that makes you laziest people in the planet. Its difficult to pull yourself out of the blanket in the morning unless someone yells n howls to wake you up.

The temperature is between 10-15 degrees but the cool wind makes you feel its around 5 degrees.  You don't see any bonfires or burning Ghamelas like in Bombay people or see any Chinese Stalls selling hot Manchow Soup. Those who are lucky have a few pegs or use the Heater in their Cars or you will find some guys standing next to the Chicken BBQ stand in hotels.

The temperature is expected to fall further with some rain... I want some more sunshine.

I spoke to a Real Estate Speculator Friend of mine who has booked some 8 properties in North India. His Modus Operandi book the flats during foundation... I.e pay 2-3 lakhs for a property worth 20 lakhs and keep offloading it after 6 months back to the builder or the real estate broker.  Doing this for 3-4 flats enabled him to buy a full flat.

Outta da Markets

I've offloaded all my stocks. Officially out of Sensex and Nifty.
I think Indian markets are in a overbought zone and with the Budget and
elections coming up a big correction is due.

The day I sold my friend Roshan said Marc Faber predicts the same, Whether Me
and Marc is right only time will tell. I digged what Marc said and I agree with
Mr. Doom.

Another thing is I've learnt a very good investment funda from Chetan Gandhi
that "When in Doubt, Get Out"

This is what Marc said.

Marc Faber, publisher of the Gloom, Boom & Doom Report, predicts global assets
are poised for a "severe correction" and says it's time to sell.

"In the next few months, we could get a severe correction in all asset markets,"
Faber said in an interview with Bloomberg Television in New York.

"In a selling panic you should buy, but in the buying mania that we have now the
wisest course of action is to liquidate."

Faber, founder and managing director of Hong Kong-based Marc Faber Ltd,
correctly predicted the US stock market crash in 1987.

He also advised investors to buy gold in 2001, which has since more than
doubled. His company manages about $300 million in assets

Diet FAQ :-)

Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?
A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does a lamb eat? Leaves and corn. And what are these? Vegetables.
So a kabab is nothing more than an efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to your system.

Need grain?
Eat chicken.

Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake?

A: No, not at all. Wine is made from fruit. Brandy is distilled wine, that means they take the water out of the fruity bit so you get even more of the goodness that way. Beer is also made out of grain.

Its only the misconception, that narrow minded people have. So, Bottoms up!

Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you?

A: YOU'RE NOT LISTENING!!! Foods are fried these days in vegetable oil.How could getting more vegetables be bad for you?

Q: Is chocolate bad for me?

A: Are you crazy? HELLO ...... Cocoa beans ... another vegetable ! It's the best feel-good food around!

Q: Is swimming good for your figure?

A: If swimming is good for your figure, explain whales to me.

Q: Is getting in shape important for my lifestyle?

A: Hey! 'Round' is a shape!

Well, I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had About food and diets..........

Jai Tirupati Balaji - An Update

Me and Bro visited Tirupati-Tirumala , the journey was very fulfilling and peaceful. Any visit to a spiritual place gives you a wonderful feeling and a Tirupati surely is the ultimate inner satisfaction for any devotee.
We flew to Chennai then took a 5 hour bus to Tirumala, Stayed at the TTD Guest house.. decent clean rooms at 100 bucks each. Since we dint have the tokens for the darshan we went for the public darshan, We were in the line from 2300 hrs to 1000 am the next day, we slept in the lines bit worried of the pickpockets and the chilling temperature but it was worth the effort. TTD made good arrangement for water and breaker for the pilgrims. Hats off to them.

When one has a few seconds of darshan of Sri Balaji the atmosphere is chaotic and full of energy, there are thousands pushing from behind and you have your one on one darshan with God, one is too stunned at times to say, speak or pray anything but our hearts speak out and every words we say we feel , thanks and mission accomplished. Thank you staying wid me and supporting me all the while.
Thank you Balaji, Sri Venketesa Namah.
