TsunamiTsunamiTsunami - to Hell wid ya!!

Its been over 2 years I went to Auroville and Pondicherry, the killer 10Meter Tsunami refreshed my memories of that beautiful place... the entire trip was playing like a repeated tape. I haven't been able to sleep properly, the negative thoughts that the village around auroville, periyar mudliar chavady and the entire city may have washed out gives me the chills. I know many people there the fisherman, the local hotel guy, the local painter n tattoo artist, the cyber cafe dude, the local photographer who looks like madhavan of RHTDM, the local bike mechanic, the many children who run behind all vehicles n take lifts from every passing vehicle...
the official Auroville website says that everyone in the area is safe n sound, no ones missing..thanks god!!!
I planning to donate some amount to the cause the PM's relief funds has a dubious track record in distributing it to the needy... I would rather give it to NDTV, Times or the Auroville committee.
You can check out more details at
http://www.auroville.org/crisis.htm
and the PM's site
http://pmindia.nic.in/relief.htm
While the whole nation and the world seems to have been united in the cause some elements of our society the BJP,Shiv Sena, RSS, VHP's absence n silence has been conspicuous.
Something to ponder about..

Some games I did today sold Centurion Bank, Berger paints.
Bought 3 sikkim thunder ball lotto.. the big game is of 4.5 Crores... the first thing I'm gonna do is call the credit card fuckers and tell them to come n take da outstanding dues back....
Christmas is in the air, I really miss the fun at I.C. Colony (a place I earlier used to live). I used to look forward to the games n celebrations we had in our colony. I remember we guys used dress up some member of our gang as Santa wid some red ghagra and red shirt as we couldn't afford Santa's costume or I think we had no idea where we would get it from. We used to go house to house singing to collect money from people saying its for charity & for poor people living in the shivaji nagar slums and the money collected was was spent on our grand party ( read beer n chicken n ice cream for below 10yrs of age) and the annual bats n stumps. I don't know whether the kids of today are as evil as my friends were... I guess they are more into MMS pondy.... We had moral science as a subject, I guess they have moral sex.....
laterz ....one regular reader is eagerly awaiting my daily dose of gyan :)
and yes da Baazee CEO got bail and is currently out of jail...past 24 hours he must have surely been thinking about the MMS for company.

Swades - A must dekko
Saw the world premiere yesterday at Fame, Malad....
This movie is the typical Ashutosh Govarikar movie... Its a well made smooth movie except for the extra songs which can be an irritant or the pop corn break as I see it. After wathcing my mind was very confused, I actually don't know what the movie is trying to convey... whether its anti brain drain or calls all Indians to pack up go back to the villages or highlights India's poverty and its problems.... whatever it is.. it does strike you and makes you ponder is India really shining or are we really cool with the IT superpower Gas all keep talking...
I don't know about others but this movie actually made me feel that we really ought to give back to the real India.. the India in her villages and her small towns.
I remember Gandhi saying India wont be really free unless we wipe the tears of the every poor farmer and labourer in this nation, I think the least we can do is support some NGO's or Village initiative to curb the Farmers committing suicides for amounts as low as 3000 Rupees.
I think I know where to go if Bombay lets me down :))
Though te movie is bit lenghty, I would give it 4/5.

Swades - coming soon!!
Plot Outline: "Hesitating to act because the whole vision might not be achieved, or because others do not yet share it, is an attitude that only hinders progress"
This is movie is something which we all Indian sometime or the other in our lives have felt the need to go to the real India and bring out the change. The movie is sensible thought-provoking film about an intelligent Indian who leaves his country for a better life abroad but later rediscovers his roots and turns back.
Releases next Friday ... shall post the review once I watch it.

Children of God!!
I normally dont post fwds and acts of bravery on the blogs but I got a post from Cdrin on Stockwinner (a group for crazy stock market buffs like me)...This article kinda made me thing who is challenged and disable we or the other children of God.
It was a sports stadium. Eight Children were standing on the track to participate the running event.
Ready! Steady! Bang!!! With the sound of Toy pistol, all eight girls started running. Hardly have they covered ten to fifteen steps, one of the smaller girls slipped and fell down. Due to bruises and pain she started crying. When other seven girls heard this sound, stopped running, stood for a while and turned back. They all ran back to the place where the girl fell down. One among them bent, picked and kissed the girl gently and enquired 'Now pain must have reduced'.
All seven girls lifted the fallen girl, pacified her. Two of them held the girl firmly and they all seven joined hands together and walked together and reached the winning post.
Officials were shocked. Clapping of thousands of spectators filled the stadium. Many eyes were filled with tears and perhaps it had even reached GOD !
YES. This happened in Hyderabad, recently! The event was conducted by National Institute of Mental Health. All these Special girls had come to participate in this event.
Yes, they were all mentally challenged!!!

BSE Sensex breaks out from a decade long consolidation.
BSE Sensex breaks out from a decade long consolidation.
This is the monthly chart for the BSE Sensex. After being trapped in the 2700-4600 for nearly a decade and a failed attempt in 1999-2000, the Sensex has finally broken out from a trading range … most probably signaling a new secular bull market.

Every hour in Mumbai is a rush hour! - Says Mid-day
A transport study is being planned, starting end-December, to determine whether Mumbai’s infamous rush-hour has extended to most parts of the day, as against the evening and morning timeslots it earlier occupied.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I still don't understand da logic of this study and report what's it gonna achieve and whom is it gonna impress... who cares anyways!! We have da gr8 chalta hai attitude anyways...
I've been traveling in trains, buses, cabs, rickshaws for as long as I remember.... If these guys want to really do a study then it be about "What body parts get affected by Bombay's rush hour traffic" ... and how many are its silent unsung victims...
I count myself as one of the 5 million victims ...
Some dangerous things which da human body endeavors in the Bombay rush-hour.
1) the 4th seat in the 2nd class train is something like Hitler's torture. One is balancing ones body on one on side of the bum, the second part is in the air ( suspended animation kinda thing) .. this torture lasts for max one hour..by that one one wiggles in and moves in da 3rd seat... both parts of the Bum on equal level.
2) Share a cab - from churchgate to nariman point. sharing da back seat wid a fat guy and and lady beside u.. its a constipated feeling.. you are trying to avoid touching her for the fear of accidentally maaraoing chance... doing this feat in da back seat of a FIAT is like Crapping in da loo wid da last mug of water left.
3) Auto ride - Andheri to Powai this 45 min ride on a rainy or not so rainy day can easily take u 2 hours also in the journey you will encounter 75 beggars, 25 eunuchs and over 100 tons of pollutants and your face will be metamorphosed into a celebrity... a Tamil Superstars :)
4)Best Bus ride - Powai to Andheri - no seat available... you rush early and stand ahead... but the seats are for ladies... as they put it "Faqt striyansathi" as if its some kinda dildos... every body else gets a seat... even those u enter after you .. no soul gives u a seat.. you curse yourself for giving seats to others specially the oldies and other bastards... fuck its over 45 mins and u r still standing.. you finally resign to you fate and blame it on your karma... you are still standing in the bus... finally just as it nears Andheri station you get an empty seat... you joss pounce on it forgetting you dogma.. 2 mins of bliss for da support starved bums.
Even after so many problems which never seems to end... no body wants to leave Bombay... I guess people get an orgasm or a trip doing da Bombay Rush-Hour :))
